Better pics of some Khorne Cultists

I built and painted these a while back but realized I had never taken any decent photos of them to post.  So I thought I would do that since I think they look pretty cool and are build from a few different venders products.


The heads are from Puppetswar, the torsos are from Blight Wheel and the legs and arms are from Mad Robot.

I think I may go back and weather their armor a bit more

Plague zombies

I've got plague zombies in my Lost and the Damned list as well so I started on them as well.  these are a mix of Puppetswar zombies and some from a Russian place I found on ebay.  They mix really well.  I regreat painting them red because that made it hard to paint blood and guts but I was too far along to start over.  These are the first 15.  I have 15 more and I am debating getting another 10.

The Lost and the Damned

I've been working on some mutants/cultists to add to my lost and the damned list.  Some of them will also serve in the khorne daemonkin army.

Kultists of Khorne - I've got quite a few more of these guys to make/paint.  I need at least 16.  Planning to give a couple of them flamers as well.  These guys are made a mix of parts from blight wheel, puppetswar, kromlech, GW flagellents and catachans.






Some other mutants:  These mutants are made using victoria lamb, maxmini and GW bits.





 

And a few more silly mutants:  These are made using kromlech, max mini and GW bits.

Plague Zombies

Who doesn't love plague zombies?  It baffles my mind that neither GW or FW have made kits for plague zombies.  I thought for sure FW would at least make a conversion kit when the 3rd Vraks book was released.  Sadly it was not so.  The fantasy zombies or terrible and few other companies make decent sci-fi zombies.

Warzone has the undead legionaries which look great but don't really fit in theme wise.

Mantic has a box of 20 plague zombies for $25.  I actually bought 2 of these and was not very happy with them to say the least.  Don't get me wrong, they are a good buy price wise but the detail was not there and they were just not to my liking.

Puppetswar make the best ones I have found to date but they are not cheap.  However, I was forced to buy some as the detail is amazing, quality is great and they fit in very nicely.  I bought 15 initially to make sure I liked them and then ordered 15 more.  I wish they would sell the arms separate for conversion purposes as they look really good.

Mekboy Junka, part 2

I got quite a lot done on the Junka since the initial post.  All the armor plates are on, all the rivets have been drilled and glued in, guns have been magnetized.

To do:
1. finish the back of the tank.  I need to do the exhaust system and possible a rear hatch.
2. a few misc details like hand holds, some green stuff weld lines.
3. Find a suitable tank driver and attach the hatch.
4.  I've got a deff rolla I thought about adding to it but I may bother.
5. Find grot gunner for big shoota sponsoon.
6. Paint!

The stats are: Ard case, 1 big shoota, 2 KMB and one big zzappa. 140 points

With the KMB and big zzappa that give me up to 5 times a turn to over heat!  I have a fairly good shot and killing my own tank just by firing it. :D  that sounds orky to me!

I finally had a chance to get the airbrush out and start on the Puppetswar Warbuss and the Kromlech Dreadnought I have affectionately dubbed Big Stompy.  I've only got the pre-shading and base color done so far but its a start...

Da Orks are 'eaded to Skool!

I've been wanting to get this model for a long time and finally got around to it.  Its the War Bus from Puppetswar miniatures.  This is one of there first larger kits and it shows.  The model is not the same quality as the stuff produced recently but its okry so a lot of the issues don't really matter.

I'm not sure about the wheel.  They are really tiny and look pretty silly.  So silly in fact that I may just use them.  I've also thought about replacing them with different wheels.  I haven't decided yet.  I'll get some mock up pics with the different options and see what looks best.


I was initially planning to run this as a BW but its a little small so I may just run it as a trukk instead.  I'm thinking the bad moon mega nobs can ride in it.

Mekboy Junka Part 1

I've been on a bit of ork vehicle kick lately so I decided to build a Big Mek Junka.  I love all the options the rules give you for one of these.  They can virtually look like anything you can imagine.

I can't draw worth a flip but I sketched a simple outline of what I was shooting for and then started cutting.  I've only had a few hours to work on it so progress has been slow but it's getting there...

The tracks are from Puppetswar out of Poland.  They look really good and I didn't want to bother with building the tracks so these worked out well.

Anyone got any ideas on what do do with the front?  I was thinking of using one of the skull plates from the stompa but not really sure what to do there at the moment.

 

 

Small unit of Chaos Marines

I ordered these heads/shoulder pads from Puppetwars because I thought they look cool.  I really like them, very evil and twisted looking.  These would be great for Iron Warriors, Fabius Bile's augmented CSM or just about any other units but I think those two are great.  I may order another set and flush out the unit.

The melta gun is from Maxmini, I just like the alternate look of the gun.

I want my tzeench termies to have combi plasma guns.  But such a thing doesn't exist.  So using the combi flamer and the plasma bit off the obliterator sprues I made this.  I'm sure if I like it or not.  Looks sort of like a hack job, which it is, but I dont have a ton of time any more.  So I'm wondering if you think it looks good enough to get by with.
